unions to destroy Ireland? The humble worker built this economy to the dizzying heights of the 4th richest country in the world, they did not really see what was coming,

An inflated property bubble, property prices dropped by about 35% from their peaks in 2006,  some economic pundits believe that prices could be as much as 50% down.

  1. Unions pushed for bench marking, we all know the fundamentals were not correct, they said life was expensive and people had to be rewarded for the economic miracle in Ireland ( more like economic sham). Now things have turned sour, Unions are still trying to protect overpaid workers ( they don’t realize that companies don’t want to entertain the high costs and are exiting in droves. Thank you trade unions, its great being an inefficient bum and hemorrhaging job losses.

  2. Unions are formed to protect workers, not to protect the country, while I heard one union representative lambasting the rich, and saying that why should we pay the rich to go to college and to tax the rich severely in the next budget, do they realize if this is their only card to play, the poor teachers with villas throughout Europe will get a get out of jail card, cushy under worked jobs. It is well known that the private sector in Ireland is the most overpaid in Europe, Unions wake up! How can Ireland afford to pay for the overpaid!

  3. The unions interest is different to the running of the country, as if business owners suffer, the workers will win, I recommend union bosses to read the 7 habits of successful people, a win loss attitude never can create much value!
